Software for BlackBerry smartphones
- HelioStat, a program for the BlackBerry
smartphone, allows you to determine the time and location of sunrise and
sunset on your BlackBerry. HelioStat works independently of cellular or
data networks. Great for photographers, boaters, astronomy buffs.
- Location Notes, a program for the BlackBerry
smartphone, allows you to keep notes and information associated
with specific GPS coordinates, then export or map those
coordinates at a later date. Great for travelers, people working
in the field, or anyone who needs to associate information with
a particular location.
- MoonCal, a program for the BlackBerry
smartphone, allows you to view the lunar phase for any given
date in graphical form; it also shows the name of the current
phase and presents a table of the upcoming phases for the next
month. Optionally, MoonCal can also calculate equinoxes and
solstices for the next year, and the upcoming Chinese New
Year, and associated information. MoonCal works independently of
cellular or data networks.
- GPS Find, a program for the BlackBerry
smartphone, can be used as a geocaching tool, or it can be used
on an outdoor adventure, using the waypoint manager to mark
locations as you go. GPS Find works independently of cellular or data
networks. Great for hikers, walkers, travelers, geocaching.
Free or public domain Software for BlackBerry smartphones
- GPS Tool displays basic GPS
information such as location, altitude, speed, and heading.
You can also see the number of satellites, the signal strength
and location of each satellite in a pseudo polar coordinate
display. GPS Tool can detect partial and complete fixes, keeps
track of the "time to complete fix" and provides some insight into what
your GPS is doing as it determines coordinates.
- GPSOne diagnostic, a program for the BlackBerry
smartphone, that reports diagnostic information for BlackBerrys
using GPSOne chips/hardware. This is not a product of Tworoads Software.

Software for Home Automation networking
We have two public software collections hosted on sourceforge.net
is a protocol spoken by a subset of Honeywell thermostats and
other HVAC hardware. The
enviracom unix daemon is a software project that will
support interaction with an enviracom network, and the ability
to control HVAC hardware.
- The therm
project supports a daemon and client to collect data from a
DS-1820 temperature sensor network. The network comes as a DIY
kit from Peter H. Anderson #KIT-1820.
